A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it fails to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The song blends a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Obviously, the more the merrier. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
