Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
