Passionate supporters of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who breached a barrier and touched the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared footage shows the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "free after being detained", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile features recordings of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others requested online networks to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the second of a two-part adaptation of the acclaimed theatrical production Wicked, which centers on the unexpected friendship between two distinct witches.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, winning several for best costume and production design.
