Salah Extends Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the team after the fallout from his recent interview.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a vital match after making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
