Sovereign to Share Intimate Address on His Health Battle in TV Programme

The Monarch has taped a intimate address regarding his experience with cancer, which will be broadcast as part of this year's annual cancer awareness campaign, spearheaded by medical research organisations and a television broadcaster.

Buckingham Palace stated the King would talk about his "recovery journey" as a person living with the disease, in a televised statement on Friday evening at 20:00 GMT.

The address, recorded at his London residence recently, will highlight the importance of routine screenings to ensure more people detect the illness at an treatable phase.

This will be a uncommon insight on the health of the King, who has been in a course of therapy since the news was shared in February 2024. Analysts suggest unlikely the King will disclose his type of cancer.

Awareness Primary Goal

The awareness campaign each year generates donations for clinical trials and treatment and prompts people to get screenings to increase the probability of an early diagnosis.
