Ways these Denver Broncos and the 'play-dough' quarterback can end that Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes live text of the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and following last week's discussion regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They finished last season well then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets are his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key is to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
